an impossible allegory, Matthew Arthur Williams

An Impossible Allegory romanticises the past relationship of sound composer Julius Eastman and poet R. Nemo Hill decades ago. Woven with R. Nemo Hill's poem The Mandarin Orange Tree published in When Men Bow Down, it clings to the physical yet intangible loss of love. It uses fabrics to address a motion of time, infiltrating personal histories as it please but being very much so effected by it.
